The UK Contingent for the 24th World Scout Jamboree will be on of the biggest ever. It is made up of the Contingent Management Team (CMT), Contingent Support Team (CST), International Service Team (IST) and the participants. In total around 4000 participants will be attending from the UK, about 10% of the total number. This equates to 100 units (4 adults + 36 young people = 1 unit), where West Sussex is sending 2, Unit 67 & 68. The vision of the UK Contingent is:
“The UK Contingent Management Team will deliver a unique international adventure shaped by young people, where contingent members will develop personally and have a positive longer term impact on Scouting and beyond.”
They have made the commitment to deliver a fantastic international adventure for the whole contingent and will ensure young people are involved in shaping the Jamboree experience. Also they want to ensure training and development opportunities are available for every member of the contingent, allowing you to recognise the new skills and confidence that you’ve gained. Also to ensure the Jamboree reaches beyond those travelling to America. They want the youth engagement work to filter back to local Scouting for the benefit of the wider moment in the future.
Also you’ll probably be seeing a lot of the UK Contingent logo, Tea Bear. They’re be on all of the clothing and equipment and communications from the UK Contingent.
