Unit Leaders

Peter Few – Unit Leader
I have been involved in Scouting since being a Cub in Surrey.  Then a Scout, a Venture and eventually becoming a leader.  Work took me to Berkshire, where I continued helping to run Scouts and then started an Explorer unit.  A change of job moved me to West Sussex, joining another Explorer Unit in Copthorne.  I am married with two children, both are involved in Guiding.  Four years ago, I was over the moon to be selected as a Leader to attend the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan, with a joint unit of Kent Scouts and LaSER Guides.  This experience drove me to apply to be Unit Leader again for the 24th WSJ in North America in 2019.  I am really looking forward to seeing where the adventures of Unit 67 take us.

I have been involved in Scouting in Worthing since being a Beaver. Since then I’ve progressed through all of the sections as a youth member and as a leader too. I’m currently an Assistant Explorer Scout Leader as well as being West Sussex’s first ever County Youth Commissioner. Away from Scouting, I’m a keen runner and loves to work out too. This will be my first ever Jamboree experience and I can’t wait to see Unit 67’s adventure unfold!!

I’m a Cub leader and archery instructor at 3/5 Lancing Sea Scouts. This is my first Jamboree adventure and I’m so excited to be part of the team delivering a safe yet exciting experience for the young people of unit 67. Outside of Scouting, I work for the animal rescue charity, Wadars, love rugby and all things adventurous.

My journey as a Scout started after I transferred from Guiding in 2007. I loved the adventure that Scouting gave me and haven’t stopped since. I was a young leader for Beavers whilst I was an Explorer and am currently an Assistant Scout Leader with 12th Chichester Scouts. I have also recently become a District Youth Commissioner for Chichester. I have a passion for organising and delivering the most fun packed programmes possible and am so excited to get this Jamboree adventure started. In my spare time, I love spending it with my pony Apachi; who has opinions about everything! We like to go exploring in the woods, even if it does test his bravery skills. This will be my first Jamboree experience and I cannot wait to meet the young people. I am ready for this adventure!!
